420 Camp

Ages 11-16

1 Week Sessions-Monday to Friday

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Who should take this course? Beginner/intermediate/experienced sailors, ages 11-16, who have completed 5th-10th grades.

What if my child has some sailing experience? Instructors are conscious of varied levels of experience and arrange classes into three levels (420 Crew, 420 Skipper and 420 Trapeze and Spinnaker) so as to accomodate all levels of learning.

What will my child learn? On a typical day our US Sailing Certified instructors will introduce new material in a classroom setting before heading out to spend the majority of the day on the water. While on the water, sailors will receive group and one-on-one coaching to improve skills and sense of confidence on the water. As the class grows and learns together the instructors will introduce adventure sails to Big Island and may even find the time to introduce racing!

Swimming, sailing games, and other physical activities are interspersed throughout the day in order to make this a fun group experience for all!

What do we need to bring? Students must bring their own lunches and snacks as well as a lifejacket, change of clothes, water shoes and towel.

Cost: $275.00 per student per session. Limit of 24 students per session. One week sessions begin June 13th and run through August 26th.

We recommend 2 one-week camps for those who really want to improve their sailing skills. $25 discount for 2nd camp you attend! See registration form for more information.

If you wish to cancel, you must notify the Wayzata Community Sailing Center in writing (via email or US mail) at least two weeks prior to the start of the session to receive a refund (no phone messages will be accepted). There will be no refunds given after that time. All refunds are subject to a $30 cancellation fee. If you wish to transfer your registration from one session to another, we would be happy to accommodate your request, however, you will be charged an additional $10 to cover account fees.
