WCSC to Offer US Sailing Basic Keelboat Instructor Class
May 7 – 9, 2010
Do you enjoy introducing friends to sailing? Do you teach them about the boat, how to tack and jibe, and how to trim sheets? Do you even teach them to steer? Have you ever thought about taking your passion for sharing your love of sailing to the next level?
WCSC has need of volunteer US Sailing certified instructors for its Adaptive Sailing program. Volunteers would have the opportunity to teach sailing to children and adults with disabilities. Teaching people with disabilities was a very rewarding experience to all who participated in last year’s programs. There will be other sailing teaching opportunities as the WCSC keelboat programs progress.
This program is a full three days long and will be held from Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 9. The course assumes you know how to sail well. It is an evaluation course so it assumes that you have been teaching sailing to some degree. If successful, you will be a US Sailing Certified Basic Keelboat Instructor. Cost for the program is $345. There is a $50 discount for early registration.
For more information contact Cappy Capper (952) 476-5875. Link to program and requirements at US SAILING.
Registration is now open on the US SAILING website.
