The Wayzata Community Sailing Center is a resource for the Twin Cities and Upper Midwest. A primary function of the WCSC is to promote an appreciation of sailing in a fun, safe, and friendly atmosphere.
The WCSC provides basic sailing instruction to children, youth, and adults. The Kinderpram program allows 5- and 6-year-old children to become comfortable in a sailboat. In Pram Camp, elementary school children learn the rudiments of sailing a single-handed boat. In 420 Camp, teenagers learn about sailing a double-handed boat. Adults are taught sailing in keelboats. There is a program for inner-city youth in conjunction with the Mike Plant Fund and an Access Sailing program for disabled sailors in conjunction with the Courage Center. Several classes have been specially designed so Scouts can earn their Sailing Merit Badge.
