Who should take this course? Beginner/Intermediate sailors, ages 7-10 who have completed 1st-4th grade.

What if my child has some sailing experience? Instructors arrange classes into three levels: Pram Crew (entry level), Pram Skipper (medium level) and Pram Solo (experienced level). Experienced instructors monitor your child’s capabilities and move them to the appropriate level as they master more skills.

What will my child learn? Our highly trained staff uses the US Sailing Certification System in an open learning environment. Class begins with land-based discussions and demonstrations followed by on the water practice. Basic sailing skills covered are: upwind sailing, downwind sailing and docking. The student to instructor ratio is 1:6. Other activities like swimming & games are interspersed throughout the day to keep the action going.

What do we need to bring? Students must bring their own lunches and snacks as well as a lifejacket, change of clothes, water shoes and towel.

Cost: $269.00 per student per session. Limit of 16 students per session. One week sessions begin June 14th and run through August 27th.

We recommend 2 one-week camps for those who really want to improve their sailing skills. $25 discount for 2nd camp you attend! See registration form for more information.

Refund Policy

If you wish to cancel, you must notify the Wayzata Community Sailing Center  in writing at least two weeks prior to the start of the session to receive a refund (no e-mails or phone messages accepted).  There will be no refunds given after that time.  All refunds are subject to a $30 cancellation fee.
